Hired is a talent marketplace that connects tech professionals with top companies. The platform streamlines the job search by matching candidates to opportunities based on skills, preferences, and goals.

🎯 Why This Project Mattered

Scheduling a candidate’s first interview is a critical moment in the hiring journey — it sets the tone for the entire process. Before this project, scheduling was fragmented and manual, causing delays, confusion, and drop-offs. By redesigning this experience, we created a seamless, transparent, and scalable scheduling flow that built trust with candidates and improved recruiter efficiency.

🔍 The Challenge

😕 Candidates found scheduling confusing and inconsistent across recruiters.

⏳ Manual coordination created delays and caused candidates to drop from the funnel.

🤔 The existing flow lacked clarity on next steps, leading to candidate anxiety.

Lead Product Designer — drove end-to-end design process.

Collaborated with product managers, researchers, and engineers.

Conducted candidate interviews, mapped pain points, and ran usability tests.

🛠️ Approach
  • Discovery: Journey mapping across recruiter + candidate touchpoints to identify friction.

  • Exploration: Created wireframes and prototypes for simplified scheduling flow.

  • Validation: Tested with candidates to refine clarity around time zones, confirmations, and recruiter availability.

💡 The Solution

✅ For employers with calendar integration, we auto-included availability in interview requests — a small change with outsized impact.

🎨 Replaced a clunky modal with a modern full-page form tailored to recruiter workflows.

🧩 Designed a new picker component with metadata (interviewer, duration, context) for faster, more confident decisions.
 

📈 Supported multiple use cases: easy booking-page sharing, smart prompts for integration, and assistant-led nudges to keep scheduling moving.
